Christine Corcoran, MSW, LISW-S

Christine is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervisory Endorsement through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy Board. She earned her Master’s of Social Work Degree from the University of Cincinnati and her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology also from the University of Cincinnati.

Christine has a wide range of experiences working in the community mental health field and has provided school based therapy for five years. Her approach to therapy within the school environment is a combination of collaborative, strengths-based perspective, using cognitive-behavioral, developmental and psychodynamic orientations, play therapy, solution focused therapy, Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques. With this approach and multiple therapeutic techniques, Christine provides individual and family focused therapy for those struggling with depression, relationship or life transitions, anxiety, behavioral problems, grief and stress management as well as managing trauma symptoms.

As a school based counselor working with inner city children from Pre-K-7th grade, Christine has also worked with a trauma informed perspective working with children, families and teachers on understanding trauma. She is familiar with intergenerational and complex trauma, dealing with PTSD and Trauma and Stressor related disorders.

Christine’s primary focus in counseling is to create a safe and supportive environment to encourage emotional growth while providing services tailored to meet each client’s unique needs to facilitate healthy changes to help them thrive in all settings including school and home.
