Intern with Catalyst Counseling, LLC

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

  • Complete thorough Biopsychosocial Assessments and provide evidence-based treatment to 8- 10 families in individual or family therapy.

  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups and/or MH prevention groups

  • Document in EMR

Requirements:

Starting in the summer of 2023, Catalyst has expanded internship opportunities to Counseling and MFT programs 

MSW students are no longer required to have their LSW to apply for an internship (SWT required)

  • Must be affiliated with an accredited master's degree program in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.  Interns must apply for a Trainee License 

  • Interns will complete a three-day orientation and demonstrate an ability to successfully schedule, document, and bill in our electronic medical record system

  • Interns will participate in weekly individual supervision and monthly group supervision, provided by Catalyst’s Intern Supervisor

  • Catalyst also requires a two-semester (or more) commitment to Catalyst - to ensure clinical integrity in providing an appropriate length of treatment to our clients.

  • Catalyst places interns in our school-based services program as well as our West Chester Brookside office-based setting.

  • We cannot always guarantee the specific age range/location (it is based on availability) but try our best to match an intern with their desired age range and location. 

  • We ask that interns provide school-based counseling during school hours - we do not have evening or weekend supervision support for interns to see clients outside of school hours.  If placed in an outpatient (office-based setting) evening hours may be required/with no weekend availability.

Catalyst Counseling will provide their interns with:

  • A meaningful, purposeful internship program 

Interns will be placed intentionally in a school setting with established schools that have a referral list that will support their caseload and an onsite therapist to shadow/point of contact.  

  • A Comprehensive Orientation and clear expectations

Interns will participate in Catalyst Counseling orientation and be assisted with needed NPI/CAQH requirements (if applicable)

  • An ensured referrals/clinical experiences 

  • Broad exposure to our organization

  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision - 

  • The Heart and Soul of our Intern Program:

    • Provide individual and group supervision and mentoring. 

    • Ensure interns are keeping pace and accomplishing goals.  

    • Create a support network for interns.

Continuing Ed Opportunities

Catalyst Interns are invited to participate in any/all internal continuing education.

Catalyst also provided opportunities for growth in play therapy modalities/supervision as well as observing NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics) evaluations.
