Lauren is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisor Designation. Lauren is also a Certified Trauma Specialist through Starr Commonwealth’s National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC), which utilizes the SITCAP (structured sensory interventions for traumatized children, adults and parents) Model.
Lauren received her Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati, specializing in Child Welfare from the UPP program. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work, specializing in Mental Health from the University of Cincinnati. Lauren also has her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Lauren has over 10 years (starting in 2007) of experience working in many different social work settings including: children services, coordination of mental health/substance abuse care, juvenile detention, juvenile rehabilitation, truancy court, school-based therapy, outpatient trauma care, therapeutic visitation and crisis situation/trauma response.
Lauren enjoys working with all different backgrounds and pride herself on utilizing a supportive, strength based, and client centered approach to therapy. Lauren specializes in foster care & adoption, trauma, gender identity, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and Depression.
Lauren typically with ages 2-30. She enjoys working with little ones using therapeutic play, artistic expression, and sensory interventions. She will help clients to develop a plan for treatment based on the client’s personal goals.
Outside of her professional life, Lauren enjoys time as an avid boater and Zumba dance classes. Lauren loves spending time with her family, snuggling with her Puggle and doing craft related activities.
