Dana Auer MSW, LSW

Dana Auer is a licensed social worker in the state of Ohio. Dana received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science at Ohio State University. She then earned her Master’s degree in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University, as well as her certification in school social work at Baldwin Wallace University.

Dana has been working with children of all ages for over twenty years in a variety of diverse settings. She began her career in Lakota Local Schools as a school social worker for students in grades K - 12. Dana subsequently continued her career working at Brightview Health as a clinical counselor serving individuals in substance abuse recovery. Dana then went on to work for Catalyst Counseling where she continues her professional career at Lakota Schools (her home away from home) as the Lead School-based therapist for the district. 

Dana works with children, adolescents, and families and utilizes a strength-based, client-centered approach. Dana believes that every client has the potential to be successful and will work to empower her clients and help them identify the tools they need to achieve their individualized goals.  Dana is sensitive to cultural differences and the influence it has on relationships and interactions with others. Dana is especially attuned to family dynamics and how it affects a child’s behavior and ability to cope with stress and anxiety. Areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, LGBTQ, substance abuse issues, parenting, social skills, ADHD and trauma. 

In Dana’s spare time, she enjoys being with her husband and her two children, ages 17 and 14, and their family cat and dog. Dana is a frequent volunteer at her children’s respective schools and involved in animal rescues. Dana is a Cincinnati native and is a die-hard Skyline lover.
