Shonda Malik is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children and their families. She specializes in Music Therapy and incorporates live music making to enhance and support counseling interventions.
Shonda earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University and her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Ohio University. Shonda has worked in private practice as a Board Certified Music Therapist for 13 years in a variety of settings including school based music therapy, day programs for people with developmental disabilities, hospice, dementia programming and clinical music therapy with children who have autism or other special needs. Shonda has a passion for reaching her counseling clients through the creative and expressive path of music. She has trained as a Neurologic Music Therapist and incorporates knowledge of how music activates the brain to help her clients make positive changes.
When she isn’t working, Shonda loves to spend time with her husband and four boys.
