Ashley Campbell is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio who works with teens and their families. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and also utilizes Mindfulness-based interventions with her clients. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is particularly useful when working with teens because of its focus on learning how to manage everyday problems effectively using coping skills, mindfulness, and acceptance, as well as learning how to emotionally regulate. Ashley received her bachelor’s degree from Miami University where she obtained a B.A. in Creative Writing. Because of this, she is passionate about teaching teens how to utilize journaling and creative outlets as coping skills.
Following her bachelor’s degree, Ashley earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University. Prior to working at Catalyst Counseling, Ashley worked with women who were suffering from the effects from trauma and substance abuse. Learning that many of her clients experienced trauma in their teens and subsequently began abusing substances at that time, Ashley desired to help teens build strong and healthy coping skills in adolescence. The daughter of an educator, Ashley knows the importance of supporting teachers, staff, and families who work hard to develop student success both in and out of the classroom.
Outside of counseling, Ashley enjoys traveling and seeing movies with her husband and spending time with her cat, Mia.
