Lora Carpenter, MA, LPC

Lora is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Ohio.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Individual and Family Studies with a minor in Social Work from Miami University Oxford.  She then went on to obtain her master’s degree in Counseling at Cincinnati Christian University. Lora decided to pursue counseling due to her passion for helping people, specifically strengthening family bonds. Throughout Lora’s varied employment history, she has gained valuable experience working with local communities, families, and children from all walks of life.

The types of therapies that Lora primarily focuses on include strength-based, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.  In her approach she believes that families are the experts of their lives; she works with them to find solutions to their current concerns by using their own strengths and resources.  Lora hopes that working within the school system will help provide children and their families with additional support through a familiar everyday setting to more comfortably and successfully obtain their desired goals. Lora is very excited to begin this opportunity as well as to be working in a team environment with teachers and other faculty members to help further enrich the lives of the students.

Apart from counseling, Lora enjoys watching baseball, listening to music, being in nature, and spending time with her children and dog, Dezi.
