Samantha Hinds is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, adolescents and young adults. Samantha has training and experience in teaching Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, used to break patterns of behavior. DBT skills work to embrace the balance between acceptance and change, and help increase awareness of one's thoughts, feelings, and urges. Samantha enjoys utilizing DBT with individuals seeking to develop their skills in relationships, regulating intense emotions, and coping with stress.
Samantha has over 8 years of experience working with children and adolescents including coaching dance and gymnastics teams, tutoring in elementary schools, and running groups in the residential programs at Lindner Center of Hope. Samantha’s mission is to create a safe space for students to discuss challenges in their lives. She believes it is important to feel secure and supported in the therapeutic relationship so that clients can work towards identifying personal goals and increasing their quality of life!
Fun Fact: Samantha attended two of the biggest rivalry schools in Cincinnati. Samantha earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Cincinnati and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University, but Samantha will forever cheer on the Bearcats at the Crosstown Shootout with a Skyline coney in one hand!
