Chaundra Hornsby is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio who has worked with adults, children, and families in a variety of settings for over 15 years in clinical settings. She attended Miami University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and was recognized for university leadership awards among peers in her field. She is certified in Trauma Informed Care, Music and Memory, and enjoys substitute teaching in Butler County Schools. She has a wide array of experience, from case management, long term care, juvenile detention rehabilitation, and school based therapy.
Chaundra understands the importance of working with children in a school setting that is inclusive of the student, staff, teachers, and parents. Chaundra's passion is working with children to empower them and improve overall positive mental health by working with their entire family as a system of dynamic cohesion. She utilizes a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based Practice, and Motivational Interviewing to build a therapeutic relationship that allows children to feel comfortable expressing their feelings and working through traumatic experiences. It is important to her to meet her students where they are and work outside of the box when traditional approaches fail.
Chaundra is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to big game fish, hike, kayak, garden, and search for National Park landmarks. She enjoys traveling the world with her husband and son to embark on endless adventure of new cultures. No road is too far!
